Brief Description

Eesti Energia, internationally known as Enefit, is an energy group that consists of more than 20 companies and employs about 5,800 people. Enefit is the biggest energy producer and also one of the biggest producers of renewable energy in the Baltics. The company produces energy from oil shale, wind, biomass and mixed municipal waste. Besides Estonia, Enefit is also active in Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Jordan, the USA and also in Finland and Sweden. Enefit group is the owner of the largest Estonian DSO, Elektrilevi, covering 90% of Estonia. The grid with 630 000 meters installed is 100% smart, offering possibilities for better data collection, load forecasting and management, and optimization of EV chargers.

Main tasks and responsibilities within the project

Eesti Energia sees its main role in the project as the lead of Estonian pilot that addresses testing ultra-fast chargers that can provide auxiliary services for the grid, hence leading Subtask 8.4.2 and 8.4.3. To do that Eesti Energia have included necessary partners, such as Elektrilevi AS, distribution system operator, and EVBox, charger manufacturer and developer (official participant in the project).

• Site selection, charger installation and maintenance
• Electricity offer and grid connection
• Creating service using a charger as flexibility providing asset
• Carrying out electricity quality measurements
• Business model development
• System monitoring and testing
